Informal Meeting of Chairpersons and Electoral Commissioners from South Asia
The Informal meeting of Chairpersons and Electoral Commissioners from South Asia includes all the Chief Election Commissioners of the SAARC countries (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation), namely Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Whilst countries from the SAARC region form the core group, it is by no means exclusive, and invitations have and will be extended to other countries in the region, where it appears that the workshop may offer some benefit to a wider group.
Since 2010 five meetings of south Asian election commissioners have been held in Hyderabad, Allepey, Udaipur, Langkawi and Jaipur.
